River Island Campground and Park

River Island CampgroundRiver Island Park  High St. Central Falls, RI  02863 This 2.5 acre park is located on High Street, adjacent to Blackstone Falls, one of the City’s elderly housing complexes. The facility is comprised of two main areas: a small greenspace encircled by an 1/8th mile walking track and the Blackstone River Island. The green space and walking track offer both active and passive recreational opportunities and are used by many residents both young and old. The central green space serves as a venue for impromptu active recreational activities (such as pick-up soccer, football, etc.) even though it is not specifically programmed for these uses. The park also contains an on site field house and is lit in the evenings with decorative lighting. River Island Park connects to the Blackstone River Island by a pedestrian bridge. The island offers river views, a scenic recreation trail, camping, and access to a sandy area on the eastern side of the island where users can launch a kayak or canoe. This interesting and scenic passive recreation experience provides an additional link with the Blackstone River Linear Park. Google Map
