Blackstone Valley Explorer Tours

CENTRAL FALLS: April - August  WOONSOCKET: August - October

Ecology Boat Tour aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer Students will:
  • Perform Hands-on water quality testing and interpret the results.
  • Observe the many species of plants and animals found along the Blackstone River.
  • Discuss about pollution and what they can do to help keep the river clean.

Maximum of 35 Students

History Boat Tour aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer Students will be able to:
  • Discover the Blackstone River which is the start of the America’s Industrial Revolution.
  • View the unique mill villages along “America’s hardest working river”.
  • Learn about pioneers of the river, including Native Americans, William Blackstone and others.
25-45 Students

45 Minute Tour…...$6.00

(For every 10 Students 1 FREE chaperone)

History and Ecology Walking Tours Students have an opportunity, along with their river experience, to participate in a 45-minute walking tour.

Minimum of 20 Students

45 Minute Tour …..$2.00 (per student)

River in the Classroom
  • Bring the Blackstone River into your classroom for an hour.

  • Students will learn the effects of pollution on the Blackstone River.

  • Topics include mill villages and mill workers, canals and transportation, water and steam power, water cycle, food webs, and watershed issues.

 

River in Classroom is available any time during the year

1 Hour Session……$85.00
