Audubon Society

Environmental organization which manages the Powder Mill Ledges Wildlife Sanctuary, dedicated to the preservation of bird life. The refuge is the headquarters for the Society and offers a library, gift shop, teacher's resource center, and bird-feeding station.

Since its inception in 1985, the Council has been at the forefront of revitalizing the Blackstone Valley. It is one of 6 regional tourism councils in the state and is the official tourism development agency for the Blackstone Valley. The Council has developed and conducts many activities including the Explorer Riverboat, new Samuel Slater Canal Boat, bus, trolley and other tours, and the new Visitor's Center. It also sponsors New England's only travel and tourism trade show and conducts a number of educational programs. HOURS: 9 am - 5 pm

In addition to maps, brochures and other tourist information, the Center houses a movie theater, a moving kiosk that illustrates various highlights of the valley, and the Slater Mill Historic Site's gift shop and art gallery. More Info
