Blackstone Valley Bicycle Tour Map

Blackstone Valley Tourism Council (BVTC), along with the Greenways Alliance of Rhode Island, has just released a new Bicycle Tour of Blackstone Valley with a FREE self guided interpretive tour map available to residents and visitors.

There are two bicycle routes, and 18 mile loop, and a 24 mile lop on the map, which take cyclists along 21 different venues, historic sites, scenic attractions, mill villages and rustic byways in Pawtucket, Central Falls, Lincoln and Cumberland, RI.

Both routes explore and interpret for riders the early background and mill sites of the first industries that began in the region, along with traversing besides quaint countryside settings.

The routes, which are also ideal for walking, hiking and jogging, take people through locales such as the Blackstone River Bikeway; mill villages in Central Falls, Valley Falls, Lonsdale, Ashton, Albion, Berkeley, Manville and Quinnville; Slater Mill Historic Site; scenic roadways with farms, ponds, waterways and other noted sites of historical interest to the region and the communities along the route.

Also, the map pinpoints intermodal transportation connections, parking areas, restroom facilities and food stops.

Free copies of the Blackstone Valley Bicycle Tour map are available by calling the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center at 401-724-2200 (outside RI call toll free at 1-800-454-2882).
