Join us for fun, prizes, music, fresh farm produce at the Northern Rhode Island Council on the Arts' French Farmer's Market, on the banks of the Blackstone River and for more fun than one city can handle at the Great 2010 Dynamite Cook-Off. Discussion is raging throughout the community over who makes the best Dynamite. It will finally be known who has the best recipe, where the tradition started, who originated the recipe and who thought of calling it Dynamite. Bring your Dynamite and Calise's Bakery will provide the Dynamite rolls. Let the judges and public decide who has the best recipe! It's simple to participate. Sign-up today! Sponsored by The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council The Northern Rhode Island Council on the Arts The Call Narragansett Beer Calise Bakery Lil' General Stores The City of Woonsocket Awards and Prize 1st Place Best Dynamite Recipe - $200 (Crowned Dynamite King or Queen) 2nd Place Best Dynamite Recipe - $150 3rd Place Best Dynamite Recipe - $100 Instructions and Information Open to all cooks (professional and non-professional) at least 18 or older or you must be sponsored by an adult 18 or older. Contestants must be present for cook-off judging. Contestants are required to provide a written recipe for Dynamite. Contestants are encouraged to bring their family memories and stories of Dynamite. Contestants must arrive at Woonsocket’s River Island Park by 1:00 p.m. Judging begins at 2:00 p.m. sharp. Dynamite will only be served on authorized tables. Dynamite will be judged on taste, appearance and consistency. Dynamite rolls, paper plates, napkins, tables and tablecloths, chaffing dishes with Sterno will be provided by cook-off organizers. No electricity is available for cooking. Contestants must come with at least 8 quarts of prepared Dynamite for judging.
