THE
RACE
The Rhode Island Dragon Boat Race and Festival are modeled after the world
famous Dragon Boat Festivals held annually all around the world. Our Rhode
Island Dragon Boats are owned by Louis Yip of the China Inn in Pawtucket.
They are 38 ft long, seat 16 paddlers, a drummer and an experienced
steersperson. We supply the dragon boats, paddles, drum, t-shirts, training
time, personal flotation devices, special awards ceremony and the fun! You
supply the paddle power!
TEAM COMPOSITION
Each team will consist of 18 team members (16 paddlers, a steersperson and a
drummer). All team members must be at least 16 years of age.
THE COURSE
The races will be held on the Pawtucket River starting at the pier off
School Street in Pawtucket. It will consist of 4 lanes. Each team must
designate a team captain, and a team representative. They may be the same or
different people.
ENTRY FEE
To enter: First, assemble your team and register as soon as possible.
Confirmation is made upon receipt of your race entry form and list of team
members and alternates as well the entry fee. Team entry fee includes
t-shirts, medals, team trophy, pizza, water and post-race party! Entry
fee is $450.00. Register before July 1st and save $50.00!
